Birth Doula

I believe every mother deserves an empowering birth experience. Throughout history and cultures, women have been supported by others during childbirth. Partners and Doulas collaborate, forming a strong support team for the birthing person. The Doula keeps the birthing person grounded and connected to their body, understanding the stages of labor and physiological birth. They are a crucial part of the non-clinical maternity care team, providing physical, emotional, and informational support. The Doula also advocates for the birthing person's preferences in medical interventions. Our journey begins with prenatal appointments to discuss options and preferences. My goal: a judgment-free birth experience tailored to the birthing person's wishes.

Postpartum Doula

The Postpartum Doula cares for the birthing parent and their family in their home in the first few weeks following the birth. The Doula provides non-medical support and companionship, assists with newborn care and sibling adjustment, meal preparation and household organization. The Doula offers evidence-based information on newborn feeding, emotional and physical recovery from childbirth and other issues related to the postpartum period and can make referrals if necessary.
